Worsley in March reflection - acrylic on canvas
Worsley is steeped in history and is known for it's famous canal along with some 50 miles of underground canal which served the local coal mines back in the day. The water is usually orange due to the iron ore leaking from the mine, but on this day in March everywhere had a green tint.
This is one of my favourite places - given that my family name originated from the Old Warke area of Worsley and the land in the surrounding area was owned by "le Wallworke" family prior to Lord Ellesmere owning it.

Pudding the Wood Pigeon - pastel on paper
The wood pigeons have nested in our garden for the past few years, they are so clumsy and comical to watch. They don't seem at all bothered when we are in the garden.
This juvenile was just sat on the fence waiting for it's parents to bring it food. I had to pick it up and put over the other side of the fence so my dogs wouldn't frighten it. It is now an adult and still visits the garden and is not at all frightened of sitting in the garden with us.

My love of art has helped me through difficult times in my life and it gives me great pleasure to be able to share that experience and knowledge of art with other people, both through my own artwork and teaching others how to draw and paint.
My main subjects are portraits, wildlife and landscapes, working in pencil, pastel, acrylic, water paint and oil paint.
I have always had a passion for local history, wildlife and art and like to combine these subjects in my artwork, whilst enjoying artistic challenges of all subjects in any medium.
I have donated my artwork to charities for prizes and have found many special friends through my artwork.
