Worsley in March reflection - acrylic on canvas
Worsley is steeped in history and is known for it's famous canal along with some 50 miles of underground canal which served the local coal mines back in the day. The water is usually orange due to the iron ore leaking from the mine, but on this day in March everywhere had a green tint.
This is one of my favourite places - given that my family name originated from the Old Warke area of Worsley and the land in the surrounding area was owned by "le Wallworke" family prior to Lord Ellesmere owning it.
